Despite assumptions, Ray was actually a Hera student when at the academy. While he did love reading (fiction) books, his merit was earned more by his high tolerance and adoration for others. He is extremely protective of those in his own family, and wants the best out of his students. While his powers are mainly centred around his werewolf blood, his interests reside in literature more than power enhancing.
