Atlantic merpeople are naturally curious, but they are not the friendliest of creatures. They are much like sirens in the way that they find ways of taking human lives, but they do not lure them to their fate: they are more likely to use their powers of water manipulation to capture them as they cross the sea. They do this because they are drawn to humans and like to study them. Ishossé was part of such a community, although their natural powers are dying out as a race.

This is why they seek the academy for training.

Ishossé is mainly a shapeshifter and water elementalist. He is mostly seen in his human-like form, that he has mastered to be quite beautiful. Over his years at the academy and mixing with humans, Ishossé has grown to hate the ugliness of his original form (interpretation captioned on hover picture of the mini profile), although most of his other powers (underwater breathing, water manipulation) are only achieved through this form.
