Nora comes from a well-known, prestigious family that have been students of Willow Wood Academy for many generations. All Deightons are celebrated for their triumph in healing powers, and ability to synthesise cures and antidotes from combinations of everyday ingredients (sort of like witches with their 'potion making'). Nora is no exception to this rule: she was educated to develop her healing power from an early age, and by the time she entered the academy she could already heal over small wounds. That being said, like all of the members of her family, she had to find the carriage first before getting to the school itself.

It's no secret that the Deightons are wealthy. A lot of the students found Nora to be an unbearable snob when she first arrived, but since then she's learned to tone it down a little, to the point where she's quite humble now. That being said, she still has a little bit of that 'superior' attitude about her. Nora is now in year five at the academy, and works hard to develop her healing powers more. She wants to be able to stem bleeding of larger, more life-threatening wounds. You see, even though she acts high-and-mighty, she works hard because she's a bit of a sweet heart. She wants to be useful in the eyes of the world.
